Many of these are programs that I have personally been through or led in the past during the past twenty-plus years of my own recovery journey. Most of these resources are specific to men’s recovery from sexual/pornography addiction. The article below provides my personal perspective and why I recommend Celebrate Recovery over other programs.
Concerning recovery ministries
Captives Free is a rebranding of the L.I.F.E. Recovery curriculum from the late Dr. Mark Lasser and is specific to sexual addiction issues.

Celebrate Recovery is a church-based program (a “church within a church” with its own large group gathering followed by issue-specific small groups) that covers a much wider range of recovery topics, including anger, substance abuse, physical/emotional abuse and issues, sexual addiction, &c. It was originally developed by John Baker at Saddleback Church in California. Step Studies are the backbone of the process and ideal for small groups. This is the program that I am the most familiar with, having spent time both as an attendee and as a facilitator/leader and having supported regional training events.
