All of the embeds below are in raw PCM .wav format. With today’s available bandwidth, compressing them into MP3 or AAC seems like such a waste.

Big Update: “The Study of Starlight”

I’ve started creative work on my first music project since all the below stuff from the ‘90s. The Study of Starlight will be a collection of instrumental/ambient/smooth jazz tracks and covers inspired by the things that inspire me—faith, trust, and perhaps a little “pixie dust” from being a lifelong “Disney adult”. I plan on reworking one or two of the 1990s tracks with new instrumentation and arrangements as part of the project, and maybe a cover or two, but it will otherwise be all-new material. More info to follow as this project takes shape.

1990s

A cheap PC (pretty sure it was a Tandy with a 486-DX I self-installed), a Sound Blaster 32 with E-MU’s Sound Font technology but a limited 24-note polyphony, a used Akai X7000 I bought for $400 from the local Sightsinger Music shop with a faulty QuikDisk drive and poor-quality firmware, but whose keyboard still functioned as a MIDI controller—what could go wrong?
